Adam Crandell is an immigration attorney with more than 15 years of experience representing clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, as well as clients with immigration benefit applications before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.  His specific practice areas include criminal-related immigration matters, removal defense and litigation, waivers, family-based petitions, adjustment of status, naturalization, and asylum and related claims.  He also provides consultation services to criminal defense attorneys and their non-citizen clients with matters pending in the criminal courts of Maryland and has testified as an expert on the immigration consequences of criminal convictions in Maryland.

Adam is an active member of the Maryland legal community.  He has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law and as faculty for immigration-related trainings at the Maryland Office of the Public Defender.  He regularly presents as a panelist for continuing legal education sessions sponsored by the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA), the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild (NIPNLG), and the Federal Bar Association (FBA).

Adam devotes his expertise to helping those in need.  In 2024, he received the Maryland Legal Service Corporation (MLSC) Arthur W. Machen, Jr. Award, “presented to an attorney (usually in private practice) or a judge who has demonstrated extraordinary commitment to increasing access to justice and improving the civil legal services delivery system for low-income Marylanders.”  Since 2022, he has served as the Pro-Bono Legal Clinic Coordinator for the Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center in Easton, Maryland.

Adam graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2006, majoring in International Studies.  He earned his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2010.  Mr. Crandell is admitted to practice law by the state of Maryland, the U.S. District Court of Maryland, and by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Adam lives in Baltimore City with his wife and two children.  He is a past president of the Federal Hill Preparatory School Parent Teacher Organization and a past board member of the South Baltimore Little League.
